Keeping it real Making videogames by hand - the Making of Luminocity

Luminocity is an adventure game for mobile systems, initially designed for iPad and released in 2012 (you can get more information here: www.stateofplaygames.com): its main peculiarity is how the game world has been created, made 99% in reality (not using computer graphics).

Daryl Anselmo, Art and Creative Director at Zynga, talks his life and problems he had during last 15 years because he was always in a negative emotional state, in a “lethargic” state: these emotions let him to close into himself. This led him to vent his stress in the food, until to weigh 340 pounds (150 kg) in 2004 and also in 2013; but now - after risking to death and struggle to face his fears - he feels much better and his weight is only 190 pounds (86 Kg).

Months ago I was looking for some event, course or conference to attend, so starting some queries on the Internet I realized that there are no websites that collect events for graphics and web professionals. There are some webistes or blogs that collect events in Europe or in general in the World, which also include some (very few) events in Italy.

As you probably know, in these last years I used some of my time to drawing city vector maps, at hte beginning because I like traveling (some years ago I developed come city travel guides for Symbian smartphones and I made maps of these cities to avoid any copyright problems that I would had using Google Maps APIs).

Yes I know this feature is widespread in many websites and blogs, but only today I finally implemented on my (this) website, because - as some of you know - it's not made ​​with an open source CMS such as Wordpress or Joomla! but it has been developed entirely by myself.
