UX Analysis and interface design for a web backoffice to flights ticketing

By Gianluca Panebianco, Publishing date: 1 October 2007, Last update: 1 October 2007

Web Application (backoffice) for the management of flights ticketing, developed by Taiprora for OnAir, airline based in Pescara (Italy).
This software allows the customer to manage routes, timetables and flights, as well as the selling prices of the tickets, with costs to rise in accordance with criteria established by the customer (tickets sold, days before the departure, etc).
Because the client sells tickets for flights operated by variuos airlines, the Software is designed to manage different companies and their flights, with the possibility to calculate the revenues according to the companies agreements.

This web application also provides a dedicated area for travel agencies and tour operators, in order to allott tickets with expiration dates.

This application allows the customer to monitor flights filling rates and set deals shown on the official website OnAir.
Developed in 2007.

Role in this project

I did a full preliminary analysis of the project, both for the functional features and for its design, usability (ux design).

I made the first demo of the graphical interface (GUI), and I covered the role of project manager, organizing the work of the development team, according to the roadmap established with the Client. I also designed the entire GUI (graphic user interface) and I coded it in HTML + CSS, providing it to the web developement team.
At the end of the project I wrote the project documentation for the Client.
